Alicia Keys Hacked Myspace

Either the Alicia Keys designer was dumb enough to cut-paste this Chinese-domain background image exploit code into her page. Or maybe Alicia Keys herself fell victim to this exploit while surfing Myspace, which could have inserted the tricky background image code into her profile during a hidden process (it wouldn’t need her username/password if she was already online) attempting to spread itself to other victims.
How should you protect yourself? Don’t install any programs while you’re on Myspace. Better yet, get yourself a firewall program like ZoneAlarm and manage which applications on your computer have access to the Internet. Finally, don’t add “codes” to your profile pages that access domain names you’re not sure about.
As we now know, seemingly harmless layout graphics from off-site domains can be up to dirty business, affecting you and your friends. This is why it’s best to design your own pages with an understanding of what the codes do. Learn XHTML, learn CSS, learn how to make graphics, get web hosting, host your own images.
