Minimize Your Myspace

Does blown time on Myspace bother you? I won’t get into why Myspace is nearly necessary for some of us, but I will share these time-saving tips:

  1. Switch to a “Top 4″ list. Who gets into your Top 8 and where they get positioned takes more time to decide than who gets into a Top 4.
  2. Delete bulletin abusers, they fear not posting enough bulletins lapses them into obscurity. Too many bulletins is a bad thing.
  3. Use fewer colors. Choosing colors takes time. I use gray, black and white. If gray is your background and you want “About me” to disappear, make it gray too. Anything you make gray disappears on a gray background. For an even more minimal look, try a “skinny” layout.
  4. Add a Last.fm Recent Tracks Chart. Never update your “Music Interests” again. Last.fm charts keep friends abreast of new music you like. Copy the HTML code into your Myspace profile once and you’re done.
