This month traffic has been slow. Google downgraded me. This happens now and then, but now November is almost half-over and I’m still downgraded. You never know if Google will turn back on the juice or if traffic will remain flat forever. I can’t really complain because I still get thousands of visits, but let’s just say traffic from Google dropped 90% all at once, and hasn’t rebounded. I know this because I track where the traffic comes from, with a Wordpress/PHP/MySQL plugin I created.
This also means I lost 90% of my income. So if you don’t see as many new posts here, that’s why. And ad rates are falling too due to this economic collapse. So I’ve started a new project, one that doesn’t depend on search engines. And that’s probably a good idea anyway, because Google can randomly change its algorithm to virtually ignore you, even after receiving millions of visits/year from them. I always knew that, but while traffic is flowing in it seems OK to ignore common sense.
Looking forward, this means I have less to lose and I’m more open to experimentation. If you’re interested in a link trade, let me know. On a good day I still get about 2000 visits. Also, if you’re interested in buying ad space, that can be arranged too. You can buy out any of my Adsense blocks at $5/day (at current traffic levels) choose the left sidebar, top or bottom block. All three spots perform about the same. If you’re interested, email pj@pjbrunet.com, I’ll give you a few days free so you can measure performance. Also, if you have any recommendations on how I can increase traffic here, let me know. Thanks.
