Found one of my old posts from 2005. In it, I explain why contributing to forums is a bad idea. Are my reasons still valid?
1. “You lose control of your content.” Still true today.
2 and 3. Webmasters can “use your content to sell products or services that you do not endorse.” Still true. It’s why I left BlogShares, Myspace, etc.
4. Server crashes or goes out of business. Still true. Which reminds me, I need my own URL shortener.
5. True again. Still waiting for Disqus backlash.
