XING, the new openBC

XING. How would I describe it? Looks like a more down-to-business Ryze. An international social network with language-tagged forums. Check out XING’s team blog, openBLOG.
If you decide to build a profile, sign up and connect with mine, here. If you’re interested, I joined these groups: Business Intelligence, Information Architecture, Internet Marketing Strategy, Social Tools, Young IT Professionals (eng)

XING is unique. Its multilingualism, discovery capability and advanced contact management tools make XING the most productive community for the world’s professional people. Our primary goal is to enable you to do your work more quickly, easily, efficiently and with greater economy.

When you sign up you can share what you “have” and what you “need”. Does it work? You tell me. Forums have their advantages and disadvantages. I think it’s a matter preference. In my opinion, blogging is time better spent because you control the ads. But forums are worth it when there’s enough participation. A recent TechCrunch post says they claim ~2 million members.
